MemoSeek can’t hear me
Usually a permission is off. MemoSeek needs access to the microphone and to Speech Recognition. Check both in iPhone Settings, then try again. You can also type instead.
Check the permissions
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Tap Privacy & Security → Microphone and make sure MemoSeek is turned on.
- Go back, tap Speech Recognition, and make sure MemoSeek is turned on.
- Return to MemoSeek and try again.
You can also find both switches under Settings → MemoSeek.
Check AI processing
If you chose “Not now” when MemoSeek asked about AI processing, MemoSeek is in limited mode. With AI processing off, voice, typed requests and photo reading are all off. You can still browse, edit and delete what you have saved. Turn it on in Settings → Privacy & Data → AI processing. See AI processing help.
Other things to try
- Close other apps that may be using the microphone, such as a call, a recorder or a video app.
- Remove a case or cover that blocks the microphone, and try without Bluetooth headphones.
- Quit MemoSeek and open it again.
- If the microphone does not work in any app, see Apple’s guide: If the microphones on your iPhone aren’t working.
When the microphone is used
MemoSeek uses the microphone only while the app is open and in use. On Home, once you have allowed AI processing and the microphone, it can start listening by itself. iOS shows the microphone indicator whenever it is on. MemoSeek does not store recordings of your voice.
